Imagine you are at work when there is an explosion. Fire is everywhere and spreading quickly. Would you know what to do? Could you afford to waste precious minutes looking for a way to exit the building? Waiting until you are in the midst of an emergency is the worst time to make a plan to handle the situation. Instead, your workplace needs to identify exits and paths of egress before they are needed and put an emergency action plan together so that, in the midst of an emergency, everyone knows what to do instead of having to figure it out on their own.
